ngpllogo1Next Gen’s remarkable growth since its inception in 2005 in the fiercely competitive special interest publishing space is largely about self belief. A group of 6 individuals armed with a capital of a few lakhs, believed they could build a publishing house to feed the hunger for specialized content in a country that continues to grow at a torrid pace. With nine dominant magazine brands and successful forays into six business channels in related areas, that belief stands largely vindicated.

From six people the company has grown into a 150 people strong publishing major with national presence. The company now has five consumer titles, Car India, Bike India, Mother and Baby, The Ideal Home and Garden, Smart Photography and it has three business/trade magazine titles Commercial Vehicle, Power Watch India and Auto Components India. Among these titles Car India, Mother and Baby are licensed titles and the balance are indigenous titles.

The Team

t1Humayun Dhanrajgir (Chairman)
Is a graduate Chemical Engineer from UK and has done an Advanced Management Program from Harvard. Mr. Dhanrajgir has a very rich experience in the industry having held several senior management positions including that of Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Glaxo India Ltd. After his stint with Glaxo he joined Lupin Laboratories Ltd. for a brief period after which he joined Kodak India as their Managing Director. He is an erstwhile President of the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India and member of the General Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has experience in various facets of corporate management, such as finance, sales and marketing, corporate financing, international marketing, HRD and project control.

Mahesh-TahilyaniMahesh Tahilyani (Director)
Mahesh Tahilyani is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and an Information System Analyst from India and a Cost and Management Accountant from UK, CIMA. He is with SP group as a Group Financial Controller since 2 years and has been involved in various areas like Financial Performance management, Investment Management, Capital Allocation in addition to looking at business controls, Acquisition (Incl. due diligences) and restructuring. Prior to this, he has total experience of around 22 years with a leading multinational organization in areas of Finance and Control, Budgeting, Commercial, Governance, Internal Audit Risk Management, Business process reengineering and Corporate Planning.

shankar_krishnanShankar Krishnan (Director)
Shankar Krishnan is Group Head – Strategy of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Shankar joined the SP Group in October 2009. He is responsible for driving the Group’s strategic growth agenda, for which he works in close coordination with the Promoter, his peers in the Group Centre, and the leadership teams of the Group’s diverse businesses. Shankar also serves on the Boards and Management Boards of select companies and business divisions of the SP Group, including that of Eureka Forbes Ltd. Shankar graduated with a B.E (Honors) in Civil Engineering from VJTI (Mumbai University) and was a recipient of the JN Tata Endowment scholarship. He worked for a year with Tata Consulting Engineers, an engineering consultancy, upon completing his engineering. He then obtained an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), majoring in Business Policy and Finance. Prior to joining the SP Group, Shankar worked for 15+ years in the management consulting practice of Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting).

t6Hoshang Billimoria (Mentor & Special Advisor)
A Chartered Accountant from England & Wales by qualification, Mr. Hoshang Billimoria has over 20 years of experience in the publishing & printing industry. He was responsible for starting the directories & magazine publishing business at Tata Infomedia, where he was instrumental in transforming it from a loss making printing company to a successful publishing company. During his stint with Tata Infomedia, the company reported 14 successive years of increased profitability and turnover without a break, one of only 7 Indian companies to have managed this feat. During his tenure, several special interest magazines in the B2B and B2C space were launched. Also, the Tata Press Yellow Pages directories were introduced in 12 cities and went on to become a huge success. Prior to his stint with the Tatas, Hoshang was a partner in S B Billimoria & Company (a professional accounting firm). He started his articles with Whinney Murray & Co (now E&Y) in London, UK and worked with them for five years before returning to India. He also serves/has served as non-executive/ independent director on several companies including Thomas Cook India, HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd., Fenner Conveyor Belting Ltd, etc. He is also the past President of the Council for Fair Business Practices.

Job Description:

  • To Plan, gather, research and report relevant and timely content, news, reviews, test stories and information for a multi-platform mix of print publication, social media, website, ezine and events in an insightful, unbiased and interesting manner.
  • Ideate and discuss issues with the Editor and Publisher in order to establish priorities and positions and assist in execution of “specials” and “innovations” within required deadlines including content syndication and repurposing for external client requirements.
  • Maintain the editorial integrity of the magazine and the reputation or ethics in business enjoyed by the Company.
  • To develop market contacts and knowledge of the Industry and to demonstrate understanding of key market trends, latest developments and main market participants, their product offerings and strategies.
  • To assist the team in undertaking research projects including customer requirements/feedback, competitor analysis and market segmentation and putting forward proposed actions as a result.
  • To liaise with production departments to ensure timely and accurate production of publications and updation/development of the website.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing Products as assigned to you from time to time.
  • You may be required on occasions to work long/unsociable hour in order to achieve team objectives. You will also be expected to travel throughout on occasions in order to conduct interviews and build contacts and to represent the company at industry events.

India’s Biggest Auto Awards of 2017 recognizes automobile excellence that drives the Auto industry

Mumbai, February 10, 2017: BTVi – India’s premier English business news channel and Car India and Bike India presented India’s biggest auto awards – “The Auto Show Cars India and Bike India Awards 2017” today, in Mumbai. The awards were presented in the presence of Mr. Satish Sahastrabudhe, Additional Commissioner of Transport, Govt. of Maharashtra. The ceremony witnessed a spectacular culmination of a keenly contested auto battle in the company of elite personalities from the corporate world and auto industry.

Ms. Monica Tata, COO, BTVi, while speaking about the awards, said, “BTVi and Next Gen Publishing are delighted to honor the pioneers of automobile innovations. Our award categories cover the entire gamut of the auto industry and are a comprehensive representation of all areas of excellence. As a business news channel, we are proud to walk the extra mile to give our viewers an unbiased and credible understanding of various industries including the Indian Automotive sector, which has contributed enormously to the country’s economy over the last decade.”

A total of 35 awards were presented across two and four wheeler segments. In four wheeler segment, ‘Automobile of the Year’ was awarded to Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. won the ‘Automobile Manufacturer of the Year’ and Hyundai Motors India Ltd. won ‘CSR of the Year’. In the two wheeler segment, TVS Apache   won ‘Two wheeler of the year’ and Honda Motorcycle And Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. was awarded ‘Two Wheeler Manufacturer of the Year’. The list of award winners across all categories is mentioned below.

During the award show, BTVi unveiled the ‘#MissionNoEmission’ initiative in the presence of key influencers of the industry. Through this initiative, BTVi plans to engage key decision makers and viewers to take the pledge of ‘#MissionNoEmission’ for a greener tomorrow.  A line-up of content will also be created educating viewers towards making India cleaner and greener and engaging them to take up the pledge. The initiative will be amplified through 360 degree marketing campaign.

A special message was shared by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways congratulating the team for motivating the industry. Adding to this he states, that pollution is a major issue and he wants to import substitute cost effective and pollution free solution.  He also hopes to see more electric cars and scooters.
